Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about adult education, certificates and enrolment.

What is adult education?

Adult education is an integral part of the education system that allows everyone over 18 to acquire, supplement, expand or improve their knowledge and skills. It enables fast retraining, additional qualification and professional training for new in-demand professions.

Is there a state institution that manages and oversees adult education?

Yes. The key state institution is the Adult Education Centre. It verifies programmes, monitors their quality and ensures standardisation of the lifelong learning process.

What do “verified programme” and “verified institution” mean?
  • A verified programme is a training curriculum officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Adult Education Centre.
  • A verified institution is an education centre (like our school) that meets all legal, spatial, staffing and technical standards for delivering these trainings.

This guarantees the validity of your education.

What certificate will I receive after completing the training?

After successfully completing the training and passing the final exam, you receive a publicly recognised certificate of professional qualification. It is issued by our verified institution and contains the relevant qualification code and official stamps.

Why do I need a publicly recognised certificate?

A publicly recognised certificate is legal, official proof of your qualifications. It enables:

  • Legal employment: a mandatory requirement when applying to private companies and state institutions.
  • Working abroad: a certificate from a verified programme can be legally translated, notarised and recognised in EU countries and beyond.
  • Starting your own business: it is required to register your own business activity and to apply for self-employment grants.
What conditions must I meet to successfully complete the training and obtain a certificate?

To obtain a diploma/certificate you need to:

  1. Regularly attend theoretical and practical classes.
  2. Successfully complete the practical tasks during the training.
  3. Pass a final exam consisting of a theoretical part and a practical demonstration of skills.
Where can I work with the certificate?

You can look for work in all sectors related to your profession:

  • Healthcare & social care: elderly homes, social care centres, humanitarian organisations, private care agencies, children’s centres or individual home care.
  • Economics & business: accounting firms, private companies, trading companies or as a self-employed entrepreneur.
  • Engineering: service centres, installation companies, industrial facilities and textile companies.
Can I attend while in full-time employment?

Yes. All our programmes are flexible and adapted to adults. Classes are held in the afternoons or at weekends so they don’t interfere with your regular working hours.

How is the practical training delivered?

Practical training takes place in accredited institutions for practical teaching and in real working conditions at our partner companies, care homes, service centres and businesses.

What do I need to enrol?

You need: a completed application form (available from us), a copy of your ID card, a copy of your most recent education certificate (primary or secondary) and a birth certificate. Some programmes may also require a medical certificate.

When does the training start?

When you apply we can tell you the exact start date. If the group is still being formed, registering your interest for a specific programme reserves you a priority place and directly helps form the next group.
